King James
I must say, I am very happy about Lebron's choice to join the Miami Heat. And the fact that Cleveland is so mad about it makes it that much sweeter. I mean really guys... can they really expect him to stay in one place for his whole career? He had to leave sometime! I think it's great that Lebron, Dwayne, and Chris got together and even took less money than they could be getting to have this opportunity. I think I might become a Miami Heat fan next year. After all, I was a "heat" when I played rec ball so I'm not really a band wagon-er. :)

Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego?
Oh! I do have one thing to say. I changed my whole layout. Yeah, you can already see that... unless you're blind. Then you wouldn't be reading this.
I think a lot of you (Julie and Joe) are hoping that I will post something here about my new development called "a relationship". Not a snowballs chance in heck. Sorry guys. ;) Maybe one day though. Like after June 23rd. Maybe.
Oh, I am probably going to go see the play Mary Poppins tonight. That's exciting I guess.
Yeah, I'm not really good at blogging. It's pretty much just me talking and I feel like no one is listening and therefore I'm crazy. Ah, what can you do.
I like to end my posts abruptly sometimes.

Life in the 727
Way to go self.
Thanks.
Ok, back to it. Yesterday we had a lovely dinner at Alicia's house where I proceeded to bend and bow down to every one of Sadie's little commands. She sure knows what she wants. And she'll get it too!
Example: Dad was sitting on the couch next to Sadie. Sadie pushed dad off the couch so he wouldn't sit there, once he was gone she looked at me and started patting the couch so I knew I was welcome to sitting by her. Sorry dad, I know you don't have favorites but I guess she does.
There was a lot of the "golf game". Which really has nothing to do with golf. Pretty much just a golf club. A plastic one at that. It's more like hockey. I get a ball and golf club and chase Sadie around the house with it. She LOVES that game. Unfortunately the golf club is Sadie Size and I bend over for an hour running around. Doesn't sound hard huh? Ok, well let me tell YOU something. I want you to get a little plastic golf club and ball and chase it around your house, RUNNING, for an hour or more. THEN you come tell me it's not that bad! Ah, the things I do for that girl. I sure hope she appreciates this!
Unfortunately Ethan and Joseph couldn't be there. Although we did have a dinner with the whole Meyers family on Thursday. Our only day together. :( Actually our only 2 hours together. Maybe Christy will change her mind and decide her family is more important than her job and move back to Florida for the rest of the summer. Likely? I think not. But we shall see friends, we shall see.
Here's some pictures to show you how UN-often we are all together. Man we were ugly children! It's amazing we turned out normal.
(Yes, These are hideous, but they are necessary for everyone to see how little we are all here together. Let this be a lesson family!)

Life Lately
Home again, home again! It's nice to be back people! Last night Joe, Mike, Mom and Dad met me at the airport. :) Haven't had Joe there usually before so it was kind of different... in a good way. It's been a long couple of weeks though between finals and traveling. I finished my last final at 9:55 p.m. on the last day. Tests had to be turned in by 10:00. Cutting it a little close, I know. That night I didn't get to sleep because I had to pack and do cleaning checks which I had not had time for earlier in the week. Though I did take a break for IHOP with some friends around 2 am. That was fun.
Thursday some friends and I took a road trip down to St. George and Las Vegas. We drove down to St. George Thursday and stayed around there. Went to the St. George temple and got hit on by a guy that said, "I cut it off when Hinckley died" .... talking about his long hair, which was apparently longer than mine. Kind of awkward.... We were all exhausted from lack of sleep and just stayed at Allison's Grandma's house and watched movies and fell asleep while her Grandma went out on the town. Talk about role reversal...
The next day we went to Las Vegas, which surprisingly was really fun. I mean what are 4 poor Mormon girls going to do in a city like that?? I have no clue but we had a blast! Basically counted how many times we got hit on, and by hit on I mean if someone waved at us, that counted. Number 9 I have to say was my favorite though. Some lady was dancing through one of the hotels singing a song that wasn't even playing. "Dancing and mincing as she went", oh I should mention she was about 65 years old too. We went to the M&M factory. Highlight of my day. :) Coconut M&M's are the new thing people, but keep your eye out for pretzel M&M's too! ohhhhhhh baby! Then when we got back we were exhausted from the festivities and once again, sat at home as Allison's Grandma was out cruising the town, or something like that. Ok, she was at a relief society activity but that counts, right?
Saturday we lounged around a pool as I proceeded to get very very very crispy. And when I mean crispy I mean I look like a candy cane. Red from head to shoulders, white stomach, red from legs to ankles, white feet. Don't ask how my feet didn't get burned, I'm still trying to figure out that mystery. But we had a good time, till we realized how fried we were. Well, I was the worst, and NO I DIDN'T WEAR SUNSCREEN.... AGAIN! So... yeah, I kind of deserve it. But I told my dad my goal was to "get fried". Goal accomplished.
Then the last couple days in Provo we just relaxed and had fun with friends. It was so nice to just relax and do whatever and not worry about homework or assignments for school. Blissful actually.
Here's some pictures from the festivities.

Celebrate Human Dignity!
Saturday night some I went with some friends to BYU's annual Hunger Banquet. The theme of the night was: Celebrate Human Dignity.
It. Was. Awesome.
The Hunger Banquet is to raise awareness within the BYU community about global poverty and wealth inequality. The goal is for people to see what it is like to be born into an economic situation by chance, given that no one else has the option of choosing where they are born. Before they us in we walked around and they had signs up about global poverty and how so many people throughout the world have so much less than we do. They also had people walking around with signs on their back that said "CORRUPTION" and "GREED". I wasn't too sure what they were all about. But I'm sure they had a purpose. You can figure that out yourself. Anyway, then we went into a room with a bunch of Non-Profit Organizations that wanted us to go to places like India, Thailand, Kenya, Peru, Ecuador, Haiti, and other places to help them. It sounded cool but too much money and they didn't tell us enough about it. But it sounds like a cool idea.
Then we went into the Wilk Ballroom and the decorations were AMAZING! All attendees were randomly seated and served a meal representative of high-, middle-, or low-income areas of the world. They wanted to create a visual representation of the world distribution of resources so 70% sat on the floor and shared a meager meal of rice and beans with people around them and drank a small amount of water from a plastic bag. 20% sat in chairs and ate a modest, one-plate meal. And only 10% were seated at fancy tables and received a lavish meal.
You can guess where I ended up.
But it was actually a lot of fun. They had Aztec dancers perform and a performance from the Sri Radha Krishna Temple Group. That was my favorite part. We sang the Harne Krishna song and virtually all the low-income citizens got up and danced with them. I guess the rich people were too good to dance ;) We got a nice little train going in circles around the middle- and high-class people. It was great!
We also watched some videos that students made when they went to other countries to help the people there. Martin Burt was the keynote speaker. He is an amazing man. In 1999, he was the mayor of the capital city of Paraguay. He believes that if you treat poor people with dignity, they will get out of poverty. He said its not "us" and "them". We are all equals. Some were just born in the right zip code. It gave me a new perspective on the human condition. Poor people are no less than us. They have the same feelings and desires as we do. They're not helpless, but hopeful. These people have so much more courage and determination than I do or anyone gives them credit for. It's so cool to see how people, who have much harder lives than I do, take their situation and try to change it and make it better. It's so inspiring to see how they deal with it. It's awesome! I'm pretty sure if I ever did go to one of those places to help and teach people, they would help and teach me more than I could help them. Their determination is invigorating. It makes me appreciate everything I have. Even though I may be a meager college student and feel like I don't have a lot, I have a lot more than a lot of people in this big world. So next time you think you have a junky car, or you don't have nice enough clothes, or furniture or anything, just be glad you have any car, or any nice clothes, or any furniture and you don't have to sit on the ground and eat rice and beans day after day. We're all so lucky. If you're reading this, I know you are because you at least have a computer or have access to one. This guy that showed his movie had to show a farmer in a small town somewhere in Africa how to use a plain and simple digital camera. We have so much to be grateful for. We need to be more aware of what's around us and how lucky we are. So let's celebrate human dignity and be grateful for who we are and what we have.

Darn ALL ski lifts!
I like to think I am a well coordinated person. Ski lifts try to make me look like a fool however.
I think I have gotten hurt more snowboarding than I have doing any of the other ridiculous shenanigans I'm ever up to. Last year I got a GINORMOUS bruise that was about thissssssssssssss big. ;) All I was doing was standing in LINE for the ski lift. Key Word: SKI LIFT. It was the nastiest black and blue bruise for about 3 weeks. Priceless.
Last Saturday Alison, Gabby, Makia, and I (that was for you mom) went night skiing. Probably not a good idea to have the four of US on the ski lift together, given my history. As we approached the "steep" lift I warned them. Which might have scared them but that's not my fault. I was simply trying to inform. Neither was it my fault when Gabby pushed Makia who fell into me and stuck me with her ski pole and threw my head back on the ice. Of course Alison was out of the way because she is like a deer on the slopes, prancing all about. We were in a tangled mess. I wish we had a picture of video of the event. I bet all of Sundance wished they had that video. I've never heard so many people laugh so hard at ME ( and them) in my life. I was a little out of it though so maybe it was not even that loud I just thought it was. It was all kind of a blur now. I think I got whiplash because my neck was pretty sore the next day. I thought I was better by today. Boy was I mistaken...
Today I was trying a new trick. Bad idea. I fell again. Felt like my brain had an earthquake in my head. Which reminds me, I need some Advil...

Snowboarding
I think the funniest/scariest (even scary than the lift) part of the night was the Maverick run. It slopes down into a big bowl shape and then you have to keep your speed to go back up the bowl to another little hill. I have great trouble with this part and really try to avoid it, but after that hill is one of my favorite parts. So as I usually barely make it up because I am scared of speed, I tried really hard to go fast. Lets just say I succeeded. That was probably the fastest I have ever gone on a snowboard. And I never want to go that fast again. I couldn't slow down because I knew if I caught an edge I was done for. So I just PRAYED I would stay on the board. No Joke. I honestly was sending a desperate prayer to heaven pleading to not fall or die. I think it might have even been out loud... ok it was out loud. But it worked. Anyway as soon as I got up to the top, I stopped right away and just contemplated my near death experience. I am glad to say I survived and am here today. You all must feel very lucky.
